Rachel Lauren is a Texas-based printmaker currently operating out of Denton, Texas. Originally born in Houston, they graduated in December of 2023 with a BFA in printmaking from the University of North Texas. In their undergraduate career, Rachel Lauren focused on the integration of technology to aid in the efficient production of imagery surrounding topics of the soul, the afterlife, and living with chronic physical and mental illness.

Rachel Lauren uses the transformative process of printmaking to explore ideas both backward and forward before they reach their final, fully fleshed-out form in her artwork. Primarily working in relief and monotype to impart a very tactile feel, they believe that the grain of the block as well as its permanence create a new plane of existence where emotions can reside symbolically. The process requires an intimate knowledge of the details of a piece to execute all the planning and printing involved.
